Herman is a male Bearded Dragon

Species: Bearded Dragon

Name: Herman

Distribution: Bearded Dragons originaly come from Australia.

Size: Adult Bearded Dragons can reach up to about 24 in. in length.

Food: Bearded Dragons are oppurtunistic omnivores. They eat a wide variety of foods including vegetation, fruit like strawberries, carrots, lettuce, insects, spiders, crickets, and the occasional small rodent or lizard.

Habitat: As juveniles they will spend some of their time in trees. Whereas adults stay on the ground most of the time. They prefer desert to dry forests and scrublands.

Tidbit: When threatened the Bearded Dragon will expand his lower lip and the area will turn black. This gives the animal it's name.

Lifespan: In the wild they generally live up to 12 years (20 in captivity).
